A holistic understanding of 21st-century energy issues

Industrialized economies are increasingly looking to energy supplies to support growth and development, yet, diminishing fossil reserves and rising CO2 emissions are jeopardizing the world’s climate. As the low-carbon energy revolution gains momentum, professionals must understand how energy and climate-change decisions are transforming their companies’ business models. The major comprises two one-week intensive modules that give industry leaders an in-depth understanding of energy fundamentals and their effects.
The world economy is facing unprecedented uncertainty that boils down to three words: energy, finance and carbon ,” says Jean-Michel Gauthier, Joint Academic Director of the HEC Paris Executive MBA Energy major. “The major enables participants to acquire a comprehensive command of energy markets and corporate strategy.

From Doha to Paris: analyzing energy’s entire life cycle

The major is designed for managers and executives involved in defining and implementing companies’ energy and climate strategies. Participants come from a wide range of organizations, including oil and gas corporations, utilities, renewable energy companies, investment banks and energy regulatory bodies.

The major’s first module in Doha focuses on energy resources: oil & gas, sun & wind.

During the second module in Paris, participants concentrate on energy management, power markets, alternative energy prospects, and corporate climate strategies. Field visits to companies recognized for their industry leadership and innovative practices complement seminars.
The Management in an Energy-Concerned Economy major is the only program that features lectures by executives who are transforming the field, covering all the complex issues surrounding carbon economies and climate change ,” says Gauthier.
