HEC Paris has launched its 4th intake of Executive MBA (EMBA) in China, Shanghai.
In China, the HEC Paris EMBA is delivered under the auspices of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and (State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission) SASAC,in Shanghai and Beijing respectively, in cooperation with the Business School of Zhejiang University.
HEC Paris in China’s General Director, Elodie Xu, commented: “The launch event has been well attended, lively and very productive. There’s a real sense of anticipation among both participants and staff as we begin the EMBA Class of 2014, knowing as we do that it is going to be a challenging and rewarding experience for all".
Juan Jose Vidal Wood, participant promotion 2014, explains the choice of the HEC Executive MBA in China: "I have chosen HEC because it is a worldwide well known and International Business School and doing my search for the best business school in China I realize that HEC was truly meeting my expectations in terms of an International Executive MBA degree.
First of all providing me a European diploma is paramount, also a strong asset to my career today is to be able to benefit from the powerful HEC alumni network throughout the world. I am from Chile, based in Asia and for me a degree from a European Business School is very important, I was looking for either an American or European Business School."
The module opened with the simulation game Negosim presented by Professor Olivier Tabatoni and Alain Roux. Negosim is a computer-based business simulation exercise that participants take part in during their first modules at HEC Paris. Participants are placed in groups to solve real-life business problems and manage a company that competes in international markets. Negosim simulates 18 months in the life of a company in just 3 days.
Over three days, an HEC participant simulates running a multinational company, negotiating, analyzing and taking decisions. Many participants say that what they do in these three days is the equivalent of what others do in a lifetime and it is an incredible experience.
Juan Jose explains his professional vision: "Today is my second day in the module, my background was to be a lawyer, I started been involved in business a few years ago and then I decided to switch pathways and become a business man.
I do feel that I have a lack of knowledge in some topics, and today being in the class I realize that there are so many things I need to learn.
For my future having a combination of law and business could be a great asset for a corporate career aiming a high position, I am convinced that this program will provide me with more tools and additional knowledge to develop myself."
Over the 16-month duration of the program, the participants in this class have a choice of eight majors to specialize in: Luxury, Aerospace & Aviation, Energy, Digital & Telecom Business, Services, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Reinventing Business for Emerging Markets, Global Business Perspectives.
The HEC EMBA program in Shanghaï is made up of a total of twelve 4-6 days modules with the option to take two of the modules outside of China such as in Russia, Qatar and France.
In addition to the EMBA degree program, HEC Paris in China also offers a full range of executive management programs, including Custom Programs tailored to companies’ needs. The HEC Paris programs in China offer a unique opportunity for China region based managers and executives to enhance their management skills and train the business leaders of tomorrow.
