Fees are billed upon acceptance and must be settled before the beginning of the program. The program will be charged by HEC, which is not subject to VAT. The key issues are: • Exploring the avenues for profound transformations of private and public sector organisations in a number of interlinked dimensions: purpose and priorities, governance and property as well as the design of work. • Discovering the type of leaders we need in order to make these new organisations function successfully. • Mapping the economic and social conditions that accompany this reinvention of management. Creatively re-inventing work, organisations and society The current global climate is ushering in an era of bold reform, creative thinking, and radical experimentation. A key innovative area is in the way we manage organisations and design work. We need to search for new forms of economic organisation and novel types of enterprise. This entails much more than “tidying things up“, adding a mere layer of ethics and control to the existing system. It is rather about rethinking the fundamental priorities and missions for ourselves and our organisations. History has shown that big social transformations can only be sustained if they unfold within commercial organisations as well as inside government, legislative and public arenas. The program is built around 6 four-day modules (3 in Oxford and 3 in Paris) and one two day module in Mondragon (Spain). Part of the program has been designed in collaboration with Spain’s Mondragon University, a world-renowned example of stakeholder democracy in education and social transformation. Participants will be encouraged to work on a significant personal research project leading to a dissertation and an Executive Speciliazed Master degree in Management from HEC Paris. Participants will also be invited to share and showcase their individual and collective learnings and insights in a major public seminar. Interests include the impact of the changing role of the client in organisations, conflicts and co-operation, organisation as a projection of its leader, trends in the management of democracy-oriented organisations.  Javier Lezaun, joint program director, Saïd Business School, Oxford University. Interest focuses on the legal, political and social dimensions of techno-scientific change, particularly in the life sciences and biomedicine. He has written on the governance of genetically modified organisms (plants, animals and humans), and on bioethics and intellectual property rights in relation to biotechnological innovation.
