How business challenges are addressed in the two most prominent countries among the BRICS?

Target Audience

This Major is intended for all participants curious about international markets who wish to broaden their knowledge, business practices and cultural horizons, and to discover different inspirational ways of doing business in two key markets: China and Brazil.

Context

Post crisis forecasts show that economic growth will mostly resume in the Asian region which will then drive to some extent the economic and social welfare in other parts of the world. Challenges faced by companies as a consequence of globalization and its impact on populations are further enhanced, together with their consequences in terms of the social responsibility expected from any enterprise.

Many new uncertainties also arise from climate change, the decline of natural resources and unbalanced demographic growth between main geographical regions which induce new business paradigms, most of them still to be invented. Recent studies conducted by various research institutes and advisory firms consistently show that more than 2/3 of existing companies in the western world will have to reinvent the way they do business and adapt to these new challenges.
